Guild of Metalsmiths Gallery
Getting your work into the Gallery
The gallery is provided primarily as a showcase for members to display their
work and as such it is not a juried format. Any member in good standing who has work they
are proud of may submit photos for display in the gallery. There are additional works by
former members and guest artists which have been juried in by the internet committee or the board.
Any member who would like to nominate work by a nonmember for inclusion in the gallery should send
a note and photos to the board.
Guild Members! Help ! We need those good photos of your work.
The GALLERY is a place to show people what can be done with metal whether it's functional, artistic,
traditional, or avante garde.
This means that we will need good photos of your most interesting work to put out on the site
together with your description of the work, title (if any), your name, and if you wish your address etc.
If you have photos of something you've made and are exceptionally proud of and want to show the world;
send them to us.
******Please note******
This is not an art competition!!
Forged and fabricated tools, architectural stuff, furniture, etc., etc. and Art are all welcomed.
The key words here are "something that you are proud of"; we will try to get at least one photo from
each member submitting into the gallery.
(The Guild Gallery reserves the right to edit the number photos shown and to
paraphrase lengthy descriptions if necc.)
Submissions:
- Up to 6 Photos (not slides) of up to 5 projects combined with a clear typewritten (or computer printout) list describing the work. That way we can scan the text in. If you don't have a typewriter/printer, print or write clearly and with brevity. (We don't want to spell your name wrong and as volunteers we don't get paid by the word)
- Clearly mark each photo on the back with your name and a title or number indexed to your printed list. (Be careful with a ball-point or pencil that you don't press too hard and damage the photos.)
- Enclose a self addressed stamped envelope (with adequate postage) for the return of your photos.
- Indicate if you want us to publish your address, phone number, email, and/or web page. If you don't ask us to put the address on your credits, we will assume that you don't want it there and list it only by your name and the description of the work.
