Belt Grinder

Unread post by bbrown » Mon Feb 11, 2013 7:59 pm

This is a 2"x72" belt grinder that is close to completion, Still needs a better tension release handle. And a glass platen surface.
1 1/2 HP 1725 RPM motor. The red "powerTwist" belt is so smooth running. I have one on my table saw, No motor bounce.

Grinder is up and running! Finished installing the glass platen surface.
Made my first Youtube video, Alittle camera shy, no voice over yet.
Can't wait to take out to the shop and shape some metal.

Bob,

A paint job to match your tire hammer? You are making the rest of us look like slobs. ;)

Good job.

I want one. Is there a grinder workshop in our future?

We are looking at possibly having a 2x72 grinder build in the 2013-2014 calendar. Gordon has come up with a simplified design from the one Bob built (which is like the ones from out last build). Not a sure fire thing but being seriously considered.
