Vertical gas forge

Been thinking of building a vertical gas forge. Anyone have one and are they worth the trouble of making one. all comments welcome.

Dan, although I do not have a vertical forge I have heard nothing but good things about them. The are great if you are doing Damascus since it allows the flux to fall off to the floor and be absorbed by the kitty litter on the bottom. Nice and easy to change when it gets too full of flux.
Vertical forges are typically, but not always a blown burner and not a venture burner. You may be somewhat limited to the size and shape of stock you can put into this type of forge, but then again most forges have limitations. Which is why you will probably end up with two, three or even more forges so you can handle most operations.
