Tips for titanium?

Unread post by Martin Pansch » Fri Jan 15, 2016 12:50 pm

Anybody here work titanium before? I was given some bits and screws that were in someone's ankle for a while and asked to "make something" with it. I could probably make something just by brazing parts together, assuming it brazes well, but being able to forge it a bit would certainly help present more options. Any patinas/finishes that look particularly good on it?

I have never done anything with titanium myself so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Martin, you can use the screws for a knife handle, and maybe the pieces could be scales?????? Ti can be colored by anodizing. I can help you out there if you need a lesson in it. You can get just about any color you want, or even multiple colors with masking techniques.
