Hello from Buffalo ,MN

Unread post by truckwiz » Sat Apr 11, 2015 9:59 am

Hi,
I've been playing around with a small hobby aluminum foundry for years ,hoping to build a cupola some day and do some cast iron. I have a small cnc plasma table and looking forward to adding some blacksmithing to the mix.

Welcome to the Guild of Metalsmiths, Brian!

Feel free to post some photos of your work. We all like to see the photos.

Browse the "General Information - Web Forum" how-to" section". It explains how to post photos, video, etc. Also, feel free to contact me if you run into problems or have questions with the website or web forum.

There is an active metal casting group within the Guild. Marty Hicks is one of the main guys and he holds some of our classes on foundry work. Marty has numerous photos posted of his shop and works. I'm sure he'll be along to say hello to you.

See you at a meeting and best regards,

Darryl

Those are great photos.

I really like the steam engine castings and the "Grandfather's shop" cutout on the saw.

Is the plan to machine the steam engine castings and build a working steam engine?

Regards,

Darryl

Darryl,
I love the pattern making and casting the parts. I don't know that it will ever run ,It is testing every part of my being.
