Big Sculpture in the Works

Wow! There really are some great folks in the Guild of Metalsmiths. I got to take a turn on a big lathe and shaper at the Jackson Street Roundhouse to machine these parts for a sculpture.

Thanks Charlie, Gordon, and Nick for your guidance.

If you haven't been down there, you got to check out the shop at the JSR.

Cutting a taper on a 1 11/16" shaft. This is for the finial.

Removing 1/2" of material on either side of a 3 1/2" x 1/4" wall DOM tube. This will be a collar attaching to a rotating sleeve.
