TIG Welding class report

We had another successful edition of the TIG welding class on 18 June. Super Radiator Coils (SRC) hosted us again at their wonderful facility again in Chaska and let us play with their wonderful toys, they even bought us lunch.

Jim did a good job of teaching people the basics of both theory and practice any making sure people got lots of torch time and coaching as needed.

After going through some of the basic welds Jim had set up for them some students started challenging themselves to more advanced tasks. Vertical welds, etc and, in some cases, welding together everything they could get their hands on.

Then, when Jim asked if anyone had anything else they wanted to see, I just had to see a trick he had mentioned earlier in the class, welding the bottom of two empty pop cans together. He hadn't done it in a while so it took him a couple tries to get the machine setting right but then...

The guy has game.

Everyone seemed to have a good time, learned something, and no one was hurt. All hallmarks of a successful class in my books.
