SUMMARY:August 2025 Guild Membership Meeting
DESCRIPTION:TGoM membership and families will gather at the country home of Dan and LuAnn Pate\, 35730 Highway 56 Blvd\, Dennison MN 55018 on Wednesday\, August 13 at 6:00 p.m. for the annual corn feed and hog roast. Map here. \n\nHerb Fick (The Guild’s perennial hog roast organizer) has the hog ordered and will have his mobile hog roaster on site\, along with his dedicated prep crew\nWe need a corn cook. Corn cooking equipment will be provided by Dick Carlson.\nBring your show- n’- tell items and a dish to pass. Herb suggests salads and desserts.\nMyron Hanson will supply a forge for demonstrations.\nBrendan Stevens will demonstrate.\n\nAdditional help will be needed to make this a successful event: set-up crew the morning of the event and clean-up crew the day after the event. Details below. \nVolunteer Opportunities for Corn Feed & Hog Roast!\n\n Corn cook needed\n\n\nShow up early afternoon at Dan Pate’s home Wednesday\, August 13.\nClean and cook 10 dozen ears of sweet corn. Helpers available!\nDick Carlson provides the cooking equipment.\nEveryone loves the cook! DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Rebecca Hrobak\nClass Manager: Harvey Steele  hsteele@handeecleat.com \nDescription: This is the day to try blacksmithing. All are welcome – we have designed this for the complete novice. Hammer in hand\, iron heated in the coal forge\, anvil at the ready\, you’ll be making one or more take-home projects: a drive-hook\, an S-hook or just keep hammering and see what amazing shape comes forth. Bring your creativity\, safety glasses\, and curiosity – we supply everything else.\nSize of Class: Maximum students: 8    Minimum students: 6\nTools and Equipment or other items participants are to bring to the class: Bring your favorite hammer.  Gloves are optional. \nSafety Equipment: We will be forging with coal. Safety glasses are mandatory. Wear clothing of natural fiber with no cuffs or fraying\, and leather boots or shoes. Hearing protection is optional but recommended. \nLunch Arrangements: We will break for lunch from 12:00pm-1:00pm. You can bring your lunch\, or you can grab food at a local restaurant.
