SUMMARY:TIG Welding Class 2018 is FULL!
DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Jim Erickson\nMax students: 6\nTIG (shorthand for Gas Tungsten Arc) welding has become the industrial standard when precise\, neat welds are required. You will find it used on everything from bicycle frames to nuclear reactor coils. In this class Jim Ericksen will try to bestow as much of his many year of experience with TIG into a day. After a little bit of basic theory we will jump right into welding coupons of stainless steel using some top-of-the-line equipment. No previous welding experience needed but the number of types of welds we learn will be determined by how fast people pick up on what is being taught (i.e. if you have some relatable experience going in\, you might get further along). Note: If you are on the fence about signing up\, know that this might be the last time we have this class at this venue\, and we don’t know when we might find another place with the resources to support this class.\nTools and Equipment or other items participants are to bring to the class: Nothing but basic safety equipment.\nSafety Equipment: safety glasses\, ear plugs\, natural fiber clothing (nothing that will melt)\, long sleeve shirts or a welding jacket\, pants\, and leather shoes. Welding helmets\, skull caps\, and TIG welding gloves will be provided.\nLunch Arrangements: You can either bring lunch or grab something from one of the local dining establishments.\nTo register for this class\, send your contact info and a check for $90 made out to Guild of Metalsmiths to:\nMartin Pansch\n201 Nevada Street\nNorthfield\, MN 55057 Questions: 612 599-4762 or blacksmithingyeti@gmail.com\nAcceptance for this class will be prioritized by postmark.
