August 2025 Guild Membership Meeting
August 13 @ 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm
TGoM membership and families will gather at the country home of Dan and LuAnn Pate, 35730 Highway 56 Blvd, Dennison MN 55018 on Wednesday, August 13 at 6:00 p.m. for the annual corn feed and hog roast. Map here.
- Herb Fick (The Guild’s perennial hog roast organizer) has the hog ordered and will have his mobile hog roaster on site, along with his dedicated prep crew
- We need a corn cook. Corn cooking equipment will be provided by Dick Carlson.
- Bring your show- n’- tell items and a dish to pass. Herb suggests salads and desserts.
- Myron Hanson will supply a forge for demonstrations.
- Brendan Stevens will demonstrate.
Additional help will be needed to make this a successful event: set-up crew the morning of the event and clean-up crew the day after the event. Details below.
Volunteer Opportunities for Corn Feed & Hog Roast!
- Corn cook needed
- Show up early afternoon at Dan Pate’s home Wednesday, August 13.
- Clean and cook 10 dozen ears of sweet corn. Helpers available!
- Dick Carlson provides the cooking equipment.
- Everyone loves the cook! Take over that task from Roger Degner, last year’s cook.
- Set-up crew needed
- Show up at Dan Pate’s home at 8:00 am Wednesday, August 13 to help get the homestead prepared for a fun-filled evening.
- Move items to make room for tables/chairs.
- Mow and trim the lawn.
- Please bring your chainsaw and hedge/lawn trimmers.
- Clean-up crew needed
- Show up at Dan Pate’s home at 8:00 am Thursday, August 14 to help get the homestead back in order.
- Move items back that were moved yesterday for the event.
- Hang out (work) with fellow members for another day!
